Have you Celebrated this Valentines’ Season with your doggies?

Petitudo and Hendra R Photography just had a

Grooming and Photo Portrait taking session at Petitudo on 18th Feb 2012!

Isn’t it lovely knowing that there are many friends who treat their doggies as their children, showering a lot of love, care and time on ther pet children. We just have to put up some of the pictures of these very blessed doggies on this post. May you lovely little ones be always blessed with love!

Say hi to Coco, we nick-named her Huggies as she just loved to share hugs! Such a sweetie!

Meet Coco, the first toy poodle we had on the shoot. She was such a darling throughout the whole shoot, asking for hugs and pats and she would then stay in position and let you take her pictures. Love how happy she is in this picture with her tongue out! She could’nt be separated from my lap for almost an hour after the shoot, enjoying all the attention she could get and the comfort from snuggling up close with me. Such a sweet darling!

And here is a beautiful siblings pair, Mei Mei and Doe Doe. Doe Doe is super active and can’t be convince to stay still. While it was easy for Mei Mei to pose elegantly for the camera, everyone had to chase after Doe Doe, who seems to enjoy playing catching ,to get him to stay beside his sister for just that moment for Hendra to click his camera.

Our world seems a bit tipsy..

No, Doe Doe was’nt angry being made to perch beside his sister, Mei Mei for the picture. He was just yawning. Yes, that’s a very very wide and long yawn. He must have found staying still for pictures a respite from the running that he just did.

It was difficult to get Doe Doe to stay still beside Mei Mei, he was playing too much in the day and kept yawning!

And this is the very elegant Chancery, she just knows which is her best angle!

This is Chancery, a very elegant english name for an elegant dog like her indeed. She was always behaving princessly throughout the whole session and seems to know which is her best angle. Look! She even managed a smile at us!

Can’t resist posting up this picture of the proud daddy of Chancery!

This is another toy poddle, Cola, who is super super active! Can't get him to stay still at all!

We have another poodle, Cola to end off our shoot at Petitudo for the day. We thought that Coco and Cola were animals children from the same parents, but turned out that they were not. Cola had just finished more than 3 hours of grooming, so he had a lot of stored up energy and was hard to get him to stay still. We had to make use of a lof of treats. We were lucky that Sharon  from Petitudo was there to help us to convince him to stay in position for the split second before he decided to move on to his next adventure again. But we love this picture of him on the day as it was one out of the few pictures that we could finally see his eyes clearly! We had to keep brushing the hair near his eyes gently so that we can catch some light in his eyes!

We hoped everyone love the pictures as much as we do and we look forward to more lovely images of you and your animal children!

It is the month of February again and love is in the air! Couples are busy searching around for the most fashionable things to do or to give their other half. Of course, flowers, balloons, candies and lots of kisses will never get outdated. But what follows from there?

Some couples think that Valentines Day is just a marketing gimmick for retailers. But the Love Photographers at Hendra R. Photography think that having a dedicated season of Love for the one you love works very well in today’s fast paced life. As the whole city busked in love, we are sure that many people also start thinking of your other half, the good memories both of you shared, the sweet gestures you showered over the months upon one another. All these postitive thoughts will only lead to a heart that is full of tenderness!

Besides just shopping for flowers and going for a movie and dinner date, why not get you and your other half something that allows both of you to spend time together, go on an adventure, create memories and get all your laughters and moments of tenderness all captured on camera? They are important snippets of your journey together in life and will be something that you will treasure for a whole lifetime.

Meet Zephanie and Melvin whom embarked on an adventure with us recently! They have approached us to Celebrate Love through our couple photo shoot so that they have photos as mementos in time for their second anniversary.

Both of them were secondary classmate cum “god-brother & sister” back then .After graduation, the couple didn’t kept in touch as they were busy with work and studies. It was chance that brought them together again 4 years later on the streets and they started hanging out together. Melvin decided not to miss this opportunity and picked up his courage to go after Zephanie and both of them got together soon. It’s really fate that bought them together after missed opportunities and years of separation. :)

December is a time of prolonged rains and thunderstorms ( think flooding of Orchard Road) and Zephanie and Melvin were of course concerned that the rain would impede the shoot. However, both of us were super excited about the rain as we have been conceptualising several scenes specially for this couple. Being a very young couple, we were positive that we could make use of the rain to bring out the passion of the couple and the pictures could be romantic and sexy at the same time.

Sharing a tight hug in the rain!  The wind was blowing really strongly and Zephanie was shivering as we went along the boardwalk.  Where’s better to get shelter than the arms of Melvin?

It continued to rain heavily throughout the shoot and we absolutely loved this picture of how Zephanie looked holding an umbrella dancing in the rain! A woman in love looks totally sweet and beautiful isn’t it?

We drove around the Changi area and decided to go all way out and head up the slope of Changi Hospital, the lengendary haunted grounds in Singapore.  It was already quite late by then and the night had already set in. It was slightly errie and the rain started pouring even heavier. We parked the car and stepped out into the rain. Since we were already wet, Zephanie and Melvin agreed to go all out in pursuit of the best images as a present for each other on their second anniversary.

Into each life, some rain must fall, but I know you will be there for me

This picture took us the longest to get, won’t be possible without Zephanie and Melvin’s enthusiasm and belief in us! It was pouring heavily and we totally love how passionate the couple look. Hendra was trying to catch the lights from the car through the rain and we are very happy that Zephanie love the lovely bokehs we caught in this picture for them.

Kiss in the Rain!

If you are looking to celebrate your love with your other half through an adventure, do write to us and we will can plan to embark on a celebration with you too!

“If there are no dogs in Heaven, what will become of their owners when they get there?”

We were at K9 Kulture yesterday, a day-care and training center for doggies located at the Turf Club Road. There was a memorial service specially held for dog owners who have lost their dogs. This memorial service was started by Josiah, the manager at K9 Kulture, who lost his beloved dog recently. It was a very meaningful event, not just to give thanks to our faithful and loyal friends who had passed on, but also to help owners to better cope with the pain of losing a friend so dear.

I used to have a family Doberman named Carlos. My father bought him back on the day I was born as a companion to me. He was with me every single moment. I could never imagine the day he was to leave me. It was my first experience of losing someone so dear to me. I was only in primary 6 and until now he is still dearly missed by me. He is still the only dog I have till now as I find it hard to bear with such pains of separation again.

I wished I had known photography back then. Nobody lives forever, but at least I could have been able to keep photographs of him and remember Carlos by. Today, I always encourage my clients and couples to include their pets when they engage us for their portrait photoshoots, be it family or couple. I believe these furry pets are an integral part of your family and it is sad but true that these darlings will not be able to keep us company throughout our whole lives.

This explained why we were at K9 to capture some moments for some families who have brought their doggies along. I wished that no one will not have to live with the same regret as I have had: not to have any nice pictures to remember our loyal friends by :)

We only have about 5 mins with each family and we hope that everyone enjoyed the mini photo shoot session as much as we had! Most importantly, it really warm our hearts to see how so many doggies are well loved by their human friends!

Beautiful family we met: Marcus and Sharon, with Pip and Spotty

I met Marcus walking Pip and Spotty along Bukit Timah Road when I was on my way to K9 Kulture. Would’nt have made it there if not for Marcus who showed me the way. Pip had been with Marcus for 4 years while Spotty was only with him and his wife, Sharon for about more than a month. Marcus shared how his wife and other dog lovers rescued both Pip and Spotty who had been abandoned on the roads. It was really heartwarming to hear that there are people who take in these stray dogs and love and treat them like family.

Spotty smooching Sharon

The moment Pip and Spotty spot Sharon, they were so pleased and eager to hug and smooched her.  It was apparent that Sharon love her two dogs dearly, the way she hugged the dogs when she met them at K9.  Later on, we had a good chat with Marcus while other dog owners were inside with the pastor for the memorial service as Pip and Spotty could not stay still inside the room.

We also have a group of friends together at the memorial service. :) Glad that they came for this meaningful outing together.

Friends with doggies!

Magnificent looking Oscar!

Kiralee with Shadow and Taipo, beautiful trio, aren't they?

Here’s Kiralee and her 2 dogs, Shadow from Spain and Taipo from Hong Kong. Kiralee found Shadow and Taipo as strays on the roads of Spain and Hong Kong. Shadow was badly mistreated and Kiralee rescued her. These 2 dogs had followed Kiralee around the world. As long as Shadow and Taipo are with their mistress, we are sure anywhere is going to be home for them. :)

Joan with Lance and Cherry

And here’s Joan with Cherry who is 8 yrs old and Lance who is just about 3+ years.. a very handsome dog isn’t it? Lance is very active and always lost in his own world exploring every little crook and cranny.

Sweet to see how little girl takes an immediate liking to the doggies!

See the little girl with Cherry and Lance in the picture above? She was there during the memorial service and fell for Cherry, sweet isn’t it?

It was a meaningful day for us, finding ourselves among a community who truly treats their doggies as family. Our doggies might not make up the whole of our lives, but they sure make our lives whole, don’t they?

Don’t say we never warn you first! The pictures that you going to see in this post burst all the cuteness ratings!

This is a couple photoshoot with Jessie and Chris with their 3 furry babies, Carlos, Gabbie and Dexter. :) It was our first time incorporating furry babies into our couple photoshoot and it is definitely challenging as we have to coax these babies into position with lots of treats! Thank goodness Jessie’s mum and Chris’ dad were there to help us trick, coax and guide the doggies!

And of course, as doggies are doggies, we can’t really tell them to do this or not to do that..In fact their playful nature makes the whole photo shoot very fun and gives an extra oomph to the picture when they decide to be themselves at the right moment when Hendra clicked the camera!

Dexter could'nt wait to express his love anymore and caught everyone by surprise as he rush to lick Jessie!Below is another of my favourite too!

Stealing a Kiss when all 3 doggies are busy deciding which way to go..

I love the passionate kiss shared by Jessie and Chris along the winding cobbled path. I can almost feel the grass swaying gently in the air.. but the three darling babies really added the Oomph in this picture! They looked totally nonchalant and were in their own world looking at different directions. I first saw this picture when my cousin and mum were with me and we could’nt help but burst out into laughter and squealing ” so cute!”

And more “situations” from these doggies during the shoot as seen below. It just show how clever and human these furry babies are, isn’t it? This photoshoot was more tiring than normal and we took more time than usual to wait for doggies to get into mood, but the pictures are really worth it! :)

Poolside Romance

Amidst a garden setting with a stunning alfresco sea view beside the pool, this was where Mega and Fu Lun held their solemisation.

We were very happy to be the chosen photographer of Mega and Fu Lun’s wedding, especially so when Mega is also a fellow Orang Indo. It is always a happy thing to hear the familar gentle chattering of Bahasa Indo among the guests. Mega’s family and close friends have flew in specially from Jarkarta and Medan to witness this special occassion.

The solemisation is a small and intimate affair with only 30 invited guests. The JP was Mr Phua, a legend himself among couples planning for their weddings. Mr Phua is well known for his fatherly yet witty delivery of speech and he never fails to draw laughters from the small crowd gathered as he officially wed Mega and Fu Lun.

Then the Justice of Peace blessed the couple “So hold each others' hand tight. Hold your hands with confidence. For this love can last forever. For this love you shall share together” - Shelby Dawson 握紧你的手让我用一生守侯, 今生为你付出我所有

Everyone present at the solemisation laughed as bride and groom proclaimed aloud their love and unyielding committment to each other in good and bad times under the request of Mr Phua.

I can still hear the laughters of everyone who was there at the solemisation!

I especially love how Mr Phua reminded Mega and Fu Lun to 常回家看看. As couples embark on a new stage of life, we should not forget the parents who gave you the husband or wife that you have today. I could’nt help but teared at Mr Phua’s sharing during the solemisation.

We then went around to have a casual photo shoot around the hotel when the rain finally stopped. Sharing some pictures here! Even though Fu Lun does’nt come across as a romantic guy on first sight, he was very spontaneous throughout the shoot and guided his bride throughout the shoot! :)

Congrats to Mega and Fu Lun and we look forward to good news of little dragon babies soon! Everyone heard what you promised the JP on how both you can be good citizens of Singapore :P

In Celebration of J&J

“Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.” Robert Browning

We love our In Celebration of Love Couple Shoot sessions! Shi Lei and I are always very excited about this genre of photoshoot which we specialize in, because we get to interact a lot with our couples, feeling their love for each other and of course, join in the fun! :D

Now, this couple wrote to us many moons back about their interest in our couple shoot and they really brainstormed for a long time on the theme and even their costumes for this photoshoot! :D
They specifically requested for a vintage theme, so I am gonna put on my bell-bottom pants with my aviator sunglasses and Elvis hairstyle while editing their photos ;p

We are glad that we finally get to meet up with this sweet couple after many many email correspondences.

Well then, let their story unfold itself in this album! – Hendra

Passion

This shot took us quite a while to get it! We want it to be passionate, sexy and daring at the same time, yet with a vintage feel. Being at a busy road junction, J & J have to run away from the speeding traffic frequently and having to get into the right position in a matter of seconds. They were really traffic stoppers and we really love this photo.

We walked around and found this spot which was really nice. The grass didnt look like the normal grass found in Singapore, really like those pastures overseas where you can find animals grazing on the grass! We also love the windows and the colour  scheme as it really matches J&J photoshoot theme. Too bad the sun was harsh but the sweet umbrella that J&J comes in really handy and we were able to use it to envelop their face to give it a really nice wrap around effect! Definitely one of my personal favourite!

We were really luck that day and spotted this yellow vintage vespa. J & J needed little convincing that it would be perfect for the photoshoot! Love the colour combination of J’s dress and the yellow vespa and how the vintage water pipes stood out from the background. :) Hardly able to find anything like this in other parts of Singapore..

Garden Fantasy

We got a lot of ppl asking where this picture is shot at. We were really lucky that there were some art installations around the Tanjong Pagar area that day. We took the chance of damaging the art installation and helped J up onto the swing. Love how dreamy this whole picture looks! I think she looks like a pixie in the garden!

A Short Walk

I love how this image turns out, a bit English with our couple enjoying their short walk. We really had lots of fun and a lot of ideas throughout the few hours session.
